THRA offers training opportunities to community groups and organizations across Texas in an effort to expand the Harm Reduction (HR) movement and change the culture of how we treat people who use drugs. The HR movement embraces the dignity and respect of people who use drugs and offers alternatives to the punitive and stigmatizing way we address drug use in our society.
We hope that attendees leave our trainings with an understanding of 1) the conditions in our society that make HR necessary; 2) the principles of HR and how it can be practiced, and; 3) how to integrate HR into their work and lives. These trainings also may serve as a springboard for organizations to examine current policies and procedures for alignment with HR values and principles. If you would like to request a training session for your group or organization, please complete our interest form so we can gather more information about your request.
